Pros
- the base technology is interesting and MIGHT have potential (see below)
- they actually have some (limited) physical testing facilities built
- engineers/folks at the working level are nice and focused on the job, in contrast to management
- good compensation and benefits
Cons
- management does not seem to have any values or ability to unify the company in a common goal
- despite their claims, management has not demonstrated a meaningful pathway to get the STEEL technology to a commercial implementation to where the customer will actually want to use it. zero committed commercial partnerships have been formed to date, and the steel technology's performance is not where it needs to be to be able to be used at a commercial level. Remember that the entire company was founded to "decarbonize the steel industry" and their current path seems to have to put that to the side
- recent turmoil in staffing has resulted in the departure of several senior leaders, most of whom had been there for many years
