Pros
Great networking Good gratis Flexible schedule No competition between co-workers
Cons
Poor management No respect for key employees Hard to advance Low pay Disorganized No transferring outside of other districts, you have to re-apply and get re-hired by the district manager of the district you are applying for. This happened to me. I was moving to a different city and I had applied to a higher volume store in that city and was offered a position by the manager. I had a replacement lined up to take my hours at my old location, and was to start as soon as possible at the insistence of the manager of the store I was going to. A few days later, I received a phone call from my own manager saying that there was a mistake and I didn't have the position in the store I was moving to and that I no longer had a position at the store I was leaving either as it had been filled. I was the highest seller of the store I was leaving, never had any issues with getting written up or any trouble yet no one could give me a reason why I now found myself without a job. They will expect you to come in on your days off They will expect you to work 10 hour shifts in a free-standing store completely alone, making it impossible to take state mandated breaks or use the restroom. You will have to travel to other locations.
