Good place to gain experience - AV Assistant Blackwell Inn at OSU Employee Review

Great place to take up/learn bartending, employees and management are awesome, work was fun

High variability in how busy the bar gets.

If you are looking to learn the in's and out's of hotel processes and procedures this is an ok place to start. Also due to having mostly student employees schedules are pretty flexible.

This place has a high turnover. At first I thought it was due to most employees being OSU students but learned pretty quickly its due to poor communication and accountability from the upper management at the hotel. Hourly staff is placed under a lot of pressure to organize and complete tasks with little to no direction or communication from the management team. Often when guest communicate dissatisfaction the management team will be quick to blame shift to hourly staff and roll over to guest demands making you look bad in front the guests. Overall if you are just looking for a place to clock in and out that's what you'll get here. The job isn't hard as long as your willing to be a punching bag for the salaried management.
