Pros

My coworkers were sociable and intelligent, and for the most part, really nice, fun people. The company tries to hire new graduates from reputable schools. There were some great journalists as well that were really passionate about CRE news and disliked the amount of sponsored content that was being forced upon them.

Cons

Management was inexperienced and generally poor at their jobs. There was a lot more drama than a typical functioning company. The culture was built for the "bro". Generally, the company focused on optics as opposed to producing real, valuable services. The same is true about employee welfare; there were many "perks" on paper that in practice were abused and borderline unethical. Unlimited FTO resulted in leadership (i.e. the people who had been there for +2 years) taking weeks-long to months-long vacations, ultimately to get paid to produce / do nothing. Similarly, the perk of getting free dinners if you stay at the office until 7PM just resulted in employees aimlessly staying at the office late only to get free dinner. Event production isn't particularly rocket science, so the "long hours" that are mentioned in other reviews are truly self-created long hours. Optically, the "long hours" that are frequently listed as a 'con' on the 'positive reviews' are just a means of presenting the idea that the work is difficult, important and requires long hours, but it really does not. There was generally a sense of poor ethics in addition to the previously mentioned oddities. It was not uncommon for leadership to state annual revenues were $X million when the software system that housed all sales revenue showed half the number.

Pros

Leadership here is genuinely supportive and actually cares about you beyond just your output. They regularly share tips and resources around time management and work-life balance. You're given the space to find your own way of doing things without feeling micromanaged, and leadership truly feels like they're here to support you, not criticize you. Hard work gets noticed and rewarded, which makes a real difference in how motivated you feel day to day. Everyone on the production team (and in my market at least) shares the same mindset and looks out for each other. It's a collaborative environment where people actually want to see you succeed. Like any fast-paced job, there are busy seasons and slower stretches, but if you're proactive and know how to manage your time well, you'll thrive here. Working ahead goes a long way.

Cons

The pace can be intense and priorities shift quickly, so you have to stay flexible and organized. Since you're given a lot of autonomy, self-motivation and accountability are a must, this isn't the place for someone who needs heavy structure or hand-holding. Communication moves fast and a lot can be happening at once, so staying on top of things is really on you.
