Pros
You get paid. your schedule stays the same and sometimes you will get post where you're staring at a door for 8 hours..that way you can go to school and study in between making sure the door hasn't ran away and progress towards a real career. I can't speak on behalf of other departments in the company because many of them seemed to be content with their situations... But stay far away from the security department.. unless you strive to be nothing... then you can brag to everyone you know for getting paid to point to the buffet and stand still for 8 hours. You can transfer in 6 months if there is an opening and I would highly recommend it...You are better than this position... look forward to make something of yourself.
Cons
Everything basically. No raises, the pay is extremely low for what you deal with. You will be working every major holiday and get double points if you take it off and your p.t.o. will be denied if you try and take it during that time. They demand you be grateful for the free food but it's the same greasy poison day in and out. The job has no real chance of advancement unless you're friends with management and even then one single mistake and you're out... unless you lose a set of master keys and you're a manager... then it's just a slap on the wrist. They will hold meetings every now and then to receive feedback and they even created a huge list of things to address once the union vote was nearing. They changed 2 things that were discussed and once the union vote came back as a "no" the rest of the stuff was forgotten. Nothing will ever change and even though I'm out, I am beating myself up because I wasted 2 years of my life there.
