Pros

-Friends made along the way -Free food was always around -Fries in the cafeteria -No more pros have to get to twenty words minimum

Cons

This place most likely took years off my life. If you are looking to work here, run- don’t walk. It is by far one of the most toxic environments you can step into. Be it co-workers, bosses, management, or the fact that it’s a sinking ship. Lots of promises from upper management/CEO but no follow through. If you want to be paid for all the time you put in, good luck. Extremely high expectations at all levels to live and breath Belk, but you will not see your hard work on your pay check. Merit increases are an actual joke- you will laugh at yours if you are offered one. The bonus initiative started this year and I will say that was appreciated as it’s better than nothing but maybe put that money in a salary instead of redesigning the whole building. If you are not the mold of who they want- good luck. You have to be bubbly, young, and cute. If you can’t adhere to that or at least pretend to be that- no bright future for you here. Never met more dramatic people in my life. Everything is the end of the world and the blame game is popular. Upper management wants to pin someone down for a mistake instead of working through the issue- most likely you can take the blame even if you did not create the problem. Lastly, the benefits are horrid.

Pros

I love the job and the work I do. Regional and corporate leadership are amazing.

Cons

Dated business practices. Less than bare minimum staffing causes so much unnecessary strain on employees. Hard working employees have to do the work of multiple employees because the staffing is not sufficient. Very difficult to have a work life balance when you're constantly in burnout with high levels of stress.
