Pros
From my 5+ years working with Beacon Hill in a variety of roles, I've found that this business offers a team-oriented work environment with thoughtful business practices and many growth opportunities. All staff enjoy company provided meals on almost all shifts as well as exposure to a diverse range of events, local businesses and people. Event staff employees enjoy a lot of perks that are not always accommodate for at other local companies, such as: - Reasonable event end times (typically no later than 10:30 pm) - A tip share program for all service staff that encourages teamwork and helps value all staff more equitably - Training programs - Opportunities to springboard into an events career with valued references from Beacon Hill employment experience Salaried employees also enjoy some rare benefits: - Consistent and reasonable schedules that do not require full time staff to attend every event he/she plans - Collaborative work environment where input is valued - Financially responsible business practices that ensure job security - A variety of tasks within one role - A owner operated company where the owner is a vital part of the business' success.
Cons
The event industry is notoriously busy and can be stressful work. I have found this to be true in any event location that I have worked.
