Pros

I genuinely can’t think about one good thing about this company. Maybe the fact that all the good people got out? Good for them!

Cons

- You are sold the dream in the interview - Don’t believe a word as I can assure you it is absolutely impossible to go through the career progression they run you through due to the high staff turnover and the fact you get no support from management. - The MD has never ran a business in his life and it is very clear. He is constantly bad mouthing his staff to other staff and if someone quits, he will bad mouth them to the full office and everyone is told they can’t speak to that person that has left. - The MD will rarely come into the office and on the odd occasion they do, don’t expect even a minute of their time! Instead, they disappear for hours on the phone to friends or gossiping with other members of management. - If you want to see your friends or family, don’t work here as if you leave before 7pm you are questioned on why and have to ASK for permission?!?! Hybrid working isn’t an option. In fact, even if you take a day off, you are questioned and your computer will be gone through whilst you are out of the office including all your LinkedIn messages. - The atmosphere is horrible! Because people are sacked with no notice or reason, everyone is constantly on edge and too scared to speak up. - This company only hires graduates or junior recruiters so if you are reading this and thinking of working there or already work there, you should know this environment is NOT a normal or healthy working environment and there much better recruitment companies out there! - Management totally disregard mental health and will make rude comments regarding mental health and people who are struggling/have struggled with mental health.

Pros

Worked with some great people that were not recognised by management and all treated like numbers. Everyone who brought culture to the company either quit or got fired for no reason.

Cons

Absolutely everything. A failed business with a growth plan of mass hiring straight to mass firing. Senior management has a habit of slagging employees off to other employees creating a very toxic and untrustworthy environment with management. A company that has gone from 20+ to 4 in under a year says it all. Training is from the 1900s and has no positive results in a changing market. You learn nothing and are expected to consistently hit targets all on your own with no support or advice and if you fail you will be fired. Senior Management never came into the office and in the rare occasion when they were in the office on the rare occasion they would be making personal calls for hours on end. If you value your personal privacy DO NOT WORK HERE. If management get any suspicion of you looking for a new job, they will go through your computer, your messages, your work phone, your LinkedIn and also track your work phone to see if your really at that “appointment”. Also management has a very strong feeling towards Mental Health - it’s not real.

Pros

Joining be:technology will allow anyone to map their own development and push themselves and of course earn a lot of ££££. With regular training sessions, external training the business is always open to new ideas to how help consultant develop and learn - at the end of the day, everyone learns differently. Joining a smaller business means you can get the support you need, you're not just a number and you are constantly pushed to reach your full potential. This isn't a hire and fire culture, hard work is recognised and bad months don't create dread - instead you can sit down reflect and see what can be done to improve the next month. The business focuses more on quality over quantity. and the people in the business all have the same goal and support one another. The socials for those interested are also great, from regular trip incentives, nights out, parties and more you have the balance. Overall, the business offers great support, constantly implements new ways of learning staying on top of the market. As the director is still billing himself, you don't have someone who hasn't picked up the phone in years telling you how to recruit, so they can relate and really offer advice, Whether you are someone who enjoys the social side outside of work, or you are more of a 1 drink and go home person, there is a great mix of people in the business meaning you are never left out because you don't conform to the typical 'work hard play hard' environment, which a lot of agencies have.

Cons

As any recruitment job this isn't a 9-5, some nights you will stay until 7pm/8pm to get things done, but at the end of the day it's your own commission you are doing it for. Like in any sales job with revenue targets, you are expected to hit certain criteria and KPIs but if you are hitting your target and doing well, you will not be 'told of' for sending 1 CV less than expected. Just like the late hours, you are expected to develop yourself outside of work, whether that's listening to podcasts or reading up on your market - for me not a con, but just to highlight it is an around the clock job, just like you may be expected to answer calls and be available on your days off if you have certain processes happening or take calls out of hours to catch that candidate you always wanted. It is a hard job and can be a rollercoaster of emotions, the incentives and nights out are there to reward the hard but rewarding work. But the people really do make it a great place to be and you can always relate to someone.
