For warehouse work, it is not as taxing physically or mentally as it could be.
Work to life balance is "decent".
Trust and respect can be gained easily among blue-collar management.
Cons
Very low pay. (temps through manpower are paid 10.50 as order pickers and packers) Hired on pay is only 11 for the same work.
The office staff is 100 percent separated from the floor. It is extremely rare to see anyone step foot in the warehouse from that side. A distinct feeling of being at the very bottom of the chain and replaceable when it comes to employee importance.
Very low turn over rate. On a weekly or even day to day basis, you will see multiple temps get dragged through. I would take a guess at 75 percent are gone in a week and the cycle continues.
Operation of dock loading and order picker/man up fork trucks to not receive any incentive or additional pay, while pallet stockers using reach trucks do.
Raises are low and rare.
