Pros

I had the opportunity to work at this organization for several months, and during that time, I truly felt appreciated and welcomed by many of the individuals I worked with. The team, especially in the Sports Medicine and Orthopedic departments, consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and a strong commitment to patient care. The doctors went above and beyond to ensure every patient received thorough, attentive treatment. Likewise, the medical assistants were dedicated, knowledgeable, and maintained a high standard of professionalism. It was a privilege to be part of a team so focused on delivering quality care and creating a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Cons

During my time at the company, I experienced several incidents that made the work environment increasingly uncomfortable and hostile. After returning from vacation, I noticed a shift in how leadership interacted with me—my lead frequently messaged me during my time off and, upon my return, both leadership and management began making inappropriate and unprofessional comments, some of which amounted to sexual harassment. When I reported these comments to management, I was told to speak directly with the individuals involved, which did not feel appropriate or safe. I made documented notes of each incident and eventually brought my concerns to HR. Unfortunately, I was again advised to go through management, despite already having done so without any resolution. I also informed HR that I was starting to feel uncomfortable in the workplace, but no further support was offered. Additionally, I had an approved ADA accommodation, which I believe led to further mistreatment by my lead and a coworker. I was frequently excluded, left out of important communications, and given limited information to complete my tasks. Despite these challenges, I remained professional and tried to move forward, but was continuously met with criticism and micromanagement from my lead, which was not directed at other team members. A meeting was eventually held to discuss my performance, but HR was not present, and I did not feel safe or supported enough to speak up. On my final day, despite my effort to remain positive and productive, I was again targeted with unfair accusations and dismissive behavior, which solidified my belief that I was being bullied and treated unequally. I made every effort to resolve these concerns through the appropriate internal channels, but unfortunately, nothing was done to address the situation

Pros

This review isn't about the pros of working for Banner Medical Group.

Cons

The last couple of years with BMG, many current and former leaders have encountered ongoing challenges related to the senior leadership team's (Ops Directors and above) behavior and accountability. Expectations and disciplinary actions are not applied consistently, and when disciplinary actions are applied, it is retaliatory for speaking up about these inconsistencies. This has created a culture of distrust and fear between the clinic leadership teams and Ops Directors/Senior Ops Directors. It also goes against Banner's "If you see something, say something" campaign. The HR team has also contributed to the growing fear and distrust by not following their own guidelines, and by the ERC's showing their bias against leaders through their tone of voice when talking with you, baseless accusations against leadership, and approving corrective actions that are vague and missing specific details of the incident that someone is being written up for. It also raises concerns amongst clinic leaders when multiple leaders bring forward the same concerns and issues about Ops Directors over a lengthy period of time and we're told, "we couldn't corroborate your concerns." And when multiple leaders provide ample evidence (Chronological Management Records, Teams chats, email chains, etc.) to disprove these false accusations and you're still placed into corrective action, the word corruption starts to become applicable.
