Pros

For some teams, you get the ability to work remotely full-time with the exception of a rare in-person meeting here or there. This caveat is that you need to stay in-office for the first couple of months, and you need to live in a state where Banner has a corporate office (AZ, CA, CO, etc) Many of the people here are friendly You get a pretty decent allotment of paid time off

Cons

Full teams of developers and business support teams were laid off recently to make room for outsourcing with a company named Sogeti, so finding a development position here may be difficult. Upper management makes sweeping changes to the organization frequently. The pay scale is lower than average for a Software Engineer. The system is plagued with miles of red tape, so getting anything done outside of your team (particularly when it involves multiple departments) can be very slow and difficult. HR works extremely slowly, so even when you are promised to get a promotion, it may not happen anytime soon (or at all). The company is near-constantly in a hiring / promotion freeze, meaning it becomes very difficult to move up in the company. The benefits are less-than-stellar, especially given that this is a health care company. Meetings can be dense, and, although you are officially discouraged from working over 40 hours a week, many of the employees here are only able to get work done by doing so.

Pros

The health benefits are phenomenal, but they are a closed network, limited to Banner Health providers and chosen community providers. Compensation will always be on the lower end due to being not-for-profit.

Cons

Regarding IT efficiency, they are behind. Processes are archaic and manual due to lack of up to date IT programs. Their systems do not talk to each other, and there are workarounds for everything.
