Pros
90 minute workout lunches & great health insurance. They've recently increased yearly PTO allotment, on top of volunteer & challenge days. I have never once felt pressured to pray at a company gathering. I always found this to be a peaceful time where gratitude was expressed for employee contributions.
Cons
Pay. Leadership is aware of the industry discrepancy. Salary ranges have strict caps, so internal movement to other positions may mean a pay cut. Management. I've never experienced anything quite like it. There is so much wasted energy put into protecting a broken system. Change is not welcome. Suggestions for improvement are seen as a personal insult. Covid-19 Handling. Bandwidth initiated a temporary work from home policy that lasted for a little over a year & reversed that decision with a 2 week notice, mandating that employees return to the office on June 2, 2021. Upon receiving the email informing me of this decision, I immediately reached out to my leadership to express that I hadn't yet been vaccinated. My plea was that I'd be given time to get vaccinated & allowed to delay my return 14 days after my second vaccine (per CDC guidance). I offered to show proof throughout this process, so they knew I wasn't trying to get out of coming in. When asked if I felt comfortable returning, I stated I would never choose to return at that time, as I felt it was an avoidable risk. I was told anyone who wanted to get vaccinated, could've already done so at that point & that I needed to return to the office on June 2 as required. In person culture was too important to the mission to wait until I was fully vaccinated. Reread that. No formal training. Employees train new hires while doing their full time job. Management is not a resource.
