Pros
Company culture is fantastic. There's endless opportunities to learn, exposure to really smart individuals who have a passion for power systems. The company valued work life balance through vacation benefits and reduced hourly work weeks. The EIT rotation program was fantastic for learning about the power system through planning, design, and field maintenance.
Cons
Difficult to see a future with BC Hydro as a junior engineer. Overall, observing how more senior employees were stressed to take on promotions in order to make reasonable salaries for the HCOL locations meant that I would eventually be facing the same situation with strong competition from my peers for open roles.
