Good company for Vocational Training - Administrative/Personal Assistant BASF Employee Review

Pros

Great employer for vocational trainees (I can only speak for the business focused vocational trainings) with a good salary, a lot of moving around within the company to see many different departments, mostly modern facilities (also depending on individual departments) and lots of on-site training and team building. Overall a great 3 years with a lot of support. A completed vocational training exposes you to many different departments and areas of expertise as well as teaches you skills that will highly benefit your employability in any kind of industry.

Cons

Despite having been offered a full-time position after vocational training, no real flexibility in career progression (PA is supposed to stay PA) and chances for development highly depending on your individual department and their employee situation/support from your boss and HR department. The same applies to the advertised subsidised evening/weekend Bachelor's degree, with little chances of a higher position or development within a department

Pros

Great benefits, hybrid & remote roles, great colleagues to work with. Great vacation /time off. Helpful colleagues

Cons

Reorganizations (roughly 3 years), IT roles dwindling in North America(moving to India), teams can get very silo-ed, “not my role” = not helping you (when you are looking for answers/assistance), currently seeing a lot of movement out of New Jersey (roles moving to other parts of the country), some organizational charts can be confusing, huge organization(can be difficult at times pinpointing the exact team you may need to work with)
