Pros

Some days Breakfast is good

Cons

I worked at Axtria for an extended period and feel compelled to share my honest experience to help others make an informed decision. While the company may present itself as an innovative player in data science and analytics, the reality within is quite different. Cons: Severe Work-Life Imbalance: Expect to work a minimum of 80 hours a week. The culture prioritizes constant availability over personal well-being, leading to chronic burnout and an unhealthy work environment. Unqualified Leadership in Data Science: Shockingly, the Data Science division is led by someone from HR with no substantial technical background. This has resulted in poor decision-making, a lack of innovation, and an exodus of skilled professionals who felt undervalued and micromanaged. Favoritism and Office Politics: Decisions are driven by personal bias rather than merit. The leadership team, particularly within HR and Data Science, operates a close-knit circle that excludes and eventually removes those who question the status quo. Employees are often terminated without clear rationale, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. Ineffective Senior Leadership: The India CEO is largely a figurehead, lacking the autonomy or strategic insight to drive meaningful change. Leadership appears to exist primarily due to personal connections with the founder rather than competence or vision. Misleading Recruitment Practices: During the hiring process, HR paints an overly rosy picture of the work culture and growth opportunities. Once onboard, the reality is a demanding and chaotic environment where promises of professional development rarely materialize. Limited Long-Term Prospects: With key decisions driven by personal agendas rather than business objectives, the company’s future appears uncertain. There is little investment in real innovation or fostering a culture where top talent can thrive. Advice to Management: Appoint qualified technical leaders in critical functions like Data Science to foster innovation and retain talent. Address the toxic work culture by prioritizing employee well-being and enforcing fair, transparent practices. Empower leadership beyond personal connections to ensure sustainable, merit-based growth. Commit to honest and transparent communication from recruitment through career progression. Bottom Line: If you value work-life balance, fair leadership, and career growth, think twice before joining Axtria. There are better environments where your skills will be respected and your time valued.
