Pros

The brand has genuine creative potential and continues to attract ambitious, talented people who care about design, culture, and innovation. The product is strong, and the aesthetic still resonates with a younger audience. Many of the teams on the ground are collaborative and hard-working, doing their best in spite of the pressure from above.

Cons

Management culture is toxic and ego-driven. Decision-making is impulsive and inconsistent, and feedback is rarely welcomed unless it flatters those in charge. There’s little transparency, unrealistic workloads, and a constant undercurrent of fear that stifles creativity and trust. There’s also a deep disconnect between the brand’s external image and its internal culture. Axel Arigato presents itself publicly as inclusive and progressive, yet diversity barely exists within the company itself. Black and underrepresented talent are frequently featured in campaigns, but not meaningfully represented in leadership or within teams — a performative approach that feels at odds with the values the brand claims to stand for. Beyond that, Axel Arigato has likely reached its ceiling as a brand. Without genuine cultural evolution, leadership change, and a shift in internal values, it will never grow beyond what it is today — a lifestyle label with aesthetic polish but limited substance.

Pros

Great team and retail perks Genuine drive to want company to succeed Staff who have stayed with brand for years

Cons

Zero management support from higher up Chasing to micro manage than to grow and develop team, fulfilment of roles more important than to look at teams and wellbeing as the retail side of business can be very demanding, no appreciation for a team that’s been with the company for years throughout many changes and disruption Company is failing and not one team from the office looks to retail team to understand true customer profile and what their needs are rather than overproducing items no one demands
