Pros
- Challenging (projects are almost always late before they start, urgent, everything needed yesterday... ) - Company seems to be growing - Small tightly knight team (engineering dept; had that small comp feel in that department) - If you like aerospace you'll learn a lot about certification, FAR, CFR... and cabin modification projects - Great place to learn project management and troubleshooting on a whim
Cons
- Bad, and I mean bad salaries (everyone I spoke to that came from other aerospace firms said they took a big pay cut to work here) - High staff turnaround (in 23 months working there, I've counted no less than 10 people leaving the company (most in the 12 that make up engineering) with an average tenure of 1 year... - Poor culture (little to no sense of appreciation, this is a common sentiment throughout the company) - Can definitely be stressful, was often under a lot of pressure to produce - Poor benefits - Often feel like you're being thrown in the lion's den to fend for yourself - Long standing staff have a ''meh, ask me if I care'' attitude a lot of the time
