Pros

You never have a JD given to you & wouldn’t know what your job should be, you have the free will to open a window-shop or freelance your own consultancy firm running dividends, taxation, accounts, fixing servers or computers whilst on the payroll and also retreat over the ‘expat package’ - all things paid for, along with hefty bonuses & allowances. Breaks are at abundant. If you're tired being office-bound, you could walk down to the nearest coffee shop, shisha joint. They also have a Chief Facebook Officer who is often spotted smoking shisha on Jumeirah Beach Road first day of the week on a Sunday morning between 10:30 – 11:00 or on a baby Sitter, kids visit to the med, School Runs and grocery picks. So if your some one who cant afford a nanny – you ought to consider this a prospect, make sure you have an outdoor meeting booked in your calendar “OWA”. Candidates working with a consulting firm ought to consider this as a highly prospective employer. Options are you get employed and then Contract you ex-company as a consultant. Inducements are done based on legal business activities, transforming - reengineering business processes and consultants are treated better than employees. Consultants are also hired as permanent employees. Reliance is on fresh expats coming from far away territories, on bigger packages with no repute to cultural awareness nor regional experience.

Cons

The head honcho knows nothing about managing people or business, he has no vision or strategy. He is just the head honcho out of pure luck. Average maximum span for an Asian employee is one year and then your made “redundant” by the manager (fresh expats coming from far away territories) over an inferiority complex as opposed to arbitrary termination. During the interim you are transferred to several of their companies/branches across the emirates, your visa on every transfer is cancelled and reapplied corresponding to the respective emirates, this way they always keep you on a extended probation whilst you are made to think of it as a promotion safeguarding their interest after a year when you are arbitrarily terminated (which is termed as position being made redundant) You are not acceptable to work above & beyond the (IN)competency level of your manager. You are not encouraged to criticize or spot any flaws in the current processes. You are not permitted to serve the customer to their utmost satisfaction. You are not cheered to voice out customers concern or grievances. You are not allowable to resolute any form of customer dispute. It’s the Managers way or the highway. There is no QHSE or Welfare team setup to look into the issues faced by the employees. No listening ear. The Blue Collar staff are treated poorly. There has been often days when amenities such as air condition in the staff room is not working and not been fixed for weeks despite several plea from the staff with the HR & Admin Coordinator. Vehicles given to the drivers are in such condition posing a treat to the safety of the employee and the other road users. If complained, the driver is asked to leave his id card and sit in the room to have his termination letter being prepared. Company trucks/tankers are operated without unwarranted interference to do either a one off personal trip between each of the scheduled trip or even in whole by cancelling all scheduled trips for the day/week. No concern for customer service! Customer’s emails are seldom replied with a generic pre scripted acknowledgement, reminder & follow up emails are tagged as spam or just remain unanswered. Half loads of the recyclables collected are vended at a local scrap dealer reroute to the company segregation depot. There has been no check & balances, no internal audit, compliance monitoring, neither team nor processes in place. The most egregiously ruthless company in UAE who is not so far-off falling from grace.
