Pros
The name still looks good on your CV (for now). If coming from a smaller consultancy the pay and benefits are relatively good.
Cons
The company is failing on most of its own objectives. There was a big switch in strategy to better serve the markets we’re in, but it’s been executed horribly and we are losing good talent everywhere. The UK business is ran by someone who doesn’t even live in the UK. The company is on its 3rd CEO in 3 years, and like most executive appointments it’s another person seconded from Accenture. Our company culture has been eroded completely in the last 2 years. Everything is being offshored to cheap locations, so it’s a good place to work if you’re in one of these, but if you’re in UK, US or other countries like this then you’re always at risk of layoff. You also have to work harder to make up for the inconsistent standard of work delivered too. Hundreds of good colleagues were made redundant last year in the UK and the process was conducted very badly. The employees have been replaced with Accenture and they don’t know what they’re doing. In time Avanade will be Accenture in all but name, or acting like another TCS or Wipro.
