Pros
All departments work as a team. There are toolbox meetings where issues are discussed and resolved. Associate appreciation days include free barbecues, free t-shirts with the company logo on them, and free lunch bags with the company logo for every employee, and more. There is constant fund raising for the IWK.
Cons
Servers are constantly going down. Computers are required to operate the saws which extract cut length data from saw files. When the servers are down, production stops. Office staff are also greatly affected by these interruptions which can sometimes last for 6 hours.
The IT manager is difficult to talk to with regards to making adjustments or improvements with reports or forms.
There is a constant cycle of hiring during peak production times and then laying off. It may take a while before a production employee can escape this cycle and feel somewhat immune from lay offs.
