Pros
• Some supportive colleagues • Flexible/hybrid working in theory • Role had potential on paper
Cons
• Extremely unstructured environment with no clear role definition • Little to no role-specific onboarding or training • Work allocation was inconsistent and not guaranteed, with long periods of ambiguity about expectations • I was expected to perform duties above my pay grade; when I raised this, I was told this must have been a mistake in my contract, but that a formal promotion would not be possible for at least another year • Expectations were therefore misaligned with both the contract and the level of pay • Payroll and sickness absence processes were poorly handled • A payroll error during sickness absence was later recovered in one lump sum, resulting in zero pay for a month, with no prior consultation or repayment plan • Mental health disclosures, including neurodivergence, were not handled sensitively
