Pros

Great benefits, 3% pension 6% match on 401k. Health insurance dental and vision all very reasonable for cost

Cons

Fluctuation in regulation made being an agent almost impossible. You will work 3 months a year and make 90% of the yearly income while struggling the rest of the year. Assurant has chosen to spend a majority of their focus on the lower tier market, who now get their insurance through the exchange. The sales team is dwindling and will not last much longer. Eventually they will relocate the entire base to the corporate office in Milwaukee.

Pros

Remote work across all lines of business allows for a flexible work environment

Cons

There is almost no opportunity for growth. The company laid off quite a few employees recently as part of a planned reduction in force while also reporting its highest quarterly earnings. There's no loyalty to tenured employees.
