Pros
I have only been with S4M for a few months but spent a very long time evaluating S4M against a few other awesome companies.
So far what I have seen and experienced is, the "culture" is good. It is not a top down forced culture but it is organic and growing middle out. I also see leadership and the people team going to great strides to facilitate enhancement of this by the employees. I have great hope here.
S4M is in a time of growth, both in company and in market. It is exciting! Where some find change to be scary I put this change and growth as a Pro and mark it as one of the main reasons I have joined S4M and am planning on staying with them as long as I can be of service.
With the current state of the world and careers S4M has been one of the most flexibility companies that I have ever worked with. My time is actually valued and my time off is also valued. The work life balance is respected within reason and follows the "ebb and flow" that normal life does. We are able to adapt and finish projects but also allowed time to refresh and step away. Honestly, countless companies say that they are this way, few, once inside, really are. ++ to S4M for this. The people team is also working on even more processes to support this and make it even better. Kudos.
We are heard. If you speak up you are heard. The leadership team has a vision for the company, of course, but really does take into consideration the feedback from everyone in the company. This is also very refreshing.
We are growing. That does not just mean new hires but internal promotions. I have already seen it happening for some, and know that much more is planned through the coming year and beyond.
Cons
Growing pains - we have so much to do but need more hands. As we grow to fill those positions it means that many of us are wearing many hats. This can be stressful and requires strong triage skills that not all of us poses.
Product Direction - as we create new SOPs and enhance our offerings the communication to everyone about the why and the what are sometimes overlooked initially. I am working internally with a few groups to fix this, but I still would mark it as a con, or a "working on."
Remotish? - I think this could also be a Pro but we are all still learning how to work remotely almost full time. This is a great thing for many of us but there are some pains in making this transition. More direction from leadership on expectations and how to handle this "new life" could be helpful for a lot of us. This is definitely something that spans many companies at this time.
