Pros
I'm half way through my one year placement and have absolutely loved my time here. From the very beginning I felt that my work was meaningful and I was welcomed as part of the team.
Work/Life balance is great, as an intern we are not expected nor allowed to work from home. You also get 25 days paid holiday per year. The work itself is challenging but I never felt it was too much, and my manager was always there to give advice. The most important thing is that I felt like my work is making a difference.
The socials are great, there are christmas&halloween parties as well other socials like bowling, office parties and pub meals. There are also other oppertunies to do training; for example I did fire marshal training while at work and had the oppertunity to do first aid training as well.
The pay is more than enough to cover expenses and have plenty left over.
Cons
I can't think of any cons right now. It was a little difficult at first to change my mindset to a 9-5 work day from working whenever I felt like it while at uni.
