Over the past years, project leadership havent shown capability in resolving difficult issues such as planning. Project leadership are too busy planning very high level details on such large projects that they dont have time to look into the issues the standard engineer is facing.
Resourcing is always an issue, with either too many or too few people for the project's work, I appreciate achieving a balance is hard but we're usually wildly off.
It is becomming increasingly obvious as I become more senior that my line manager is completely clueless about how to resolve issues.
Most people are not like this, just a few, and the majority on the whole are good. Arm is better than a lot of other employers, but there are a lot of issues with people management.
A lot of change ATM as the company is taking new directions, but this change spurred on the C-suite is a good direction and will be better for the company, even if it means some projects are scrapped etc.
