Pros
They provide good flexible working when needed. They give a one-off 4 week 'sabbatical' lump of extra vacation time for every four years of service. If you are driven enough and have the correct people skills to fit the company, you can affect change or carve out your own roles to some extent.
Cons
Marketing driven, with input from a select few. Bulk of engineering team can be treated like children by marketing - "do what you are told and don't ask questions you don't know anything about." Often runs with minimal resource on projects. People's roles are weakly defined so you can get good and bad projects depending on your co-workers.
