Pros

Mostly hard working and enthusiastic coworkers, flexible hours, lots of training, fast-paced, beautiful scenery on a daily basis, generally happy customers, minimal prerequisites.

Cons

The company claims its shipboard bartenders and narrators are subject to the Jones Act which exempts them from basic labor rights such as overtime pay and breaks, however it's very obvious this claim is illegitimate. Management also regularly schedules 12-16 hours shifts, sometimes with less than 8 hours between shifts, often with no scheduled break! Fortunately many of the captains are more compassionate than the managers, although there's one captain that the company has received numerous formal complaints about, yet no action is taken. The company has a few incredibly hardworking passionate longtime employees and I was shocked to learn many of them barely make minimum wage, which does not inspire me to stay with the company.

Pros

Good people, local company, fun atmosphere, interactive, social - being on the water showcasing Seattle is a pretty fun job especially in the summer. Flexible schedule. As a mariner, working here was a great way to grow my license and learn.

Cons

Pay is not great, no real benefits when I was there. I could not afford to work here and live near the city today I don't think.
