Pros

You get to drive your own vehicle all around town trying to make sales and paying for your own gas on commission sales.

Cons

First off, I have extensive sales experience.Argenta is a VERY misleading job to start with and will not say the exact job duties on the job postings.You basically drive to a neighborhood and walk around all day knocking on doors and trying to sell services Argenta offers.There is a good reason why they are always hiring.It's because there is a very high turnover rate and they just recruit more people that are unaware of the way the company operates.

We appreciate the feedback but are not even sure this reviewer partnered with us as we do not have a regional director in Corpus Christi. We advertise commission only from the ads we place and explain explicitly the job description and details in the opportunity meeting so that it is not misleading. The concept of paying less on commission and giving salespersons a base is noble but cannot be sustained in this business. It does not work in D2D because too many reps take advantage and just collect a check which results in sales companies like ours losing money. We encourage our reps to think of the opportunity as their own business and if they put the work in they will be successful. Which brings us to the last response, we operate on commission only because it enables our reps to make as much as they want while enabling the company to operate on very little sales since there is no expense without a sale. It's a very successful model that has kept us a top 5 vendor of 2500 vendors for 3 years and the only Vendor in South Texas to last for 5+ years.

I became a dealer partner for Argenta this year. Prior to joining Argenta, my business was not performing to my expectations - but I was in control. I was reluctant to put my business, my manager, and my reps in the hands of a team with which I had no experience. The dealer partnership sounded like the solution to all of my problems. To my surprise - IT WAS. I could not be happier with the care and effort the team from Argenta has poured into helping me build my business. Tasks that are not my forte are no longer a problem. But when I have a suggestion, THEY LISTEN. They are willing to accommodate. That was most important to me. I went from being a small dealer with little support, to a partner with a voice. They are good to me, but more importantly, good to my reps and my customers. They offer opportunity. If you can work hard, they will give you the resources and support to be successful.

Cons

D2D is what it is. Commission is what it is. It is not for everyone. THAT'S OK! As a rep getting started, it requires full commitment. You cannot come into this opportunity and "test the waters". All in, or out.
