Area 1 Security is in the right place, at the right time. Leadership is smart and has a great strategy and vision. The product is truly amazing and does what it needs to. Customers are super satisfied and we have an amazing customer satisfaction and renewal rate. The market potential is huge. Overall, really positive company outlook, amazing leadership, and great culture.

It is in the growth phase--so if you are not a fit for startups, you may not like the fast feel. I love it myself.

Incredibly talented Engineers and other employees. Everyone was extremely helpful and encouraging. Great atmosphere and chemistry in teams that are easy to take part in and create something useful. The work done at Area 1 is very exciting. This fact, along with the people, make it a joy to go into work every day. As an intern we were given a few different projects to work on throughout the time I was there. Each project was useful to the company and allowed the interns to expand their horizons and learn something in service of the task. However, each project and function within it was tailored to the individual's interest. This personally made me feel like the supervisors cared deeply about our experience as interns and were trying very hard to help us learn about something we cared about. Frequent checkins with the interns were focused almost entirely on support and did not apply any unnecessary pressure to produce something beyond our ability. That being said they did still push us to create something that we could be proud of and that could also help the company in some way. Overall, the experience was excellent and allowed me to grow as an engineer in a very enjoyable way.

Because Area 1 is a startup it doesn't have access to all the same resources as a very large software company but this rarely (probably never) affected my ability to produce.
