Where to start, I was lied to in the interview. I had different expectations and on my first day I found out that the whole company is 3 people. This is of course not a bad thing but then you have to setup your computer yourself and if there is something you can't do, the help you get from the manager is "google it". So far it's not so bad and it could happen. Then I found out that 8 people were hired and left in 1 year for my position. That was the first signal but I gave it a chance and stayed in the company long enough to get extremely stressed out and had to leave due to emotional stress in the office. This place has made me sick, the manager is an extremely paranoid person. He has no clue how the business work and doesn't trust anyone, including himself. He accuses the employees of lying to him and wants to micro-manage everything that happens in the office. He spies on the private Skype conversations and gets nervous when employees have a private chat out of the office. All of the employees including me were having constant arguments and fights in the office with the manager, this was the first time I witness something so unprofessional at work. One of the biggest arguments we had in the office is because I was not monitoring the work on Christmas eve and new year. The manager has the attitude of "You have to do what I say because I am paying you" and he said this sentence multiple times. A complete dictator who thinks he can enslave people just because he is paying salaries. Finally, for my last salaries I had to go on court against him in order to get them paid, then I also found out that this was not the first time an employee sues him. My advice for everyone reading this, STAY AWAY from this company.

- I was lied in the interview: I was told the company had 6 people when they actually were 2, and one of them had already resigned. During the year I worked there, 7 people where hired and fired or resigned. Only me and other colleague had previous experience, all the rest are students and interns. - The environment is really aggressive and toxic: The owner fights constantly with every employee, the treatment is really unprofessional and disrespectful. - The owner is an extreme micromanager and control freak: He doesn’t trust his employees, thinks they hide information and exclude him from crucial decisions. He craves power and tries to enforce it anyway he can. He thinks you should be grateful because he is paying you, does’t see this it as a two way collaboration. - The owner does not understand the business: For example, he doesn’t know the difference between an online ad agency and an ad network, and he doesn’t understand what the job of each of his employees is. - No flexible hours: You are expected to do extra hours because the owner feels it’s unfair that he leaves late and you on time (when we all stayed till late and had only 30 minutes lunch breaks or less). Also, he expect’s you to check on everything over the weekend. - Contract negotiation: When my 1 year contract was ending the owner offered me a 3 months extension because he didn’t knew if the company was going to survive. When I declined, he offered me a 6 month contract with several ridiculous conditions I should follow and NO salary raise. When I decided not to continue working there he delayed the payment of my last salary for 3 weeks, he messed up with my unemployment papers and he didn’t sent the lohnsteuerbescheinigung for almost a year, until I had to call and request it. - Interview: The owner will make you wait for at least 15 minutes. He does this to seem important and busy, but in reality, he is browsing facebook. - No perks: Not even mineral water. You only have coffee, milk, bananas and apples because that’s what the owner likes.
