The company keeps claiming (for many years) to shoot for the best in class in terms of how they value their employees, instead they tend to shoot for the middle of the pack and as usual fall short of that. Pay and overall comp is low for your avg engineer, employees get treated quite badly but fed a "nice patronizing story" as if employees do not understand the cut-throat short-term, profit-margin-driven vision. An example: Look at the change in vacation time that just happened; basically all of the employees' accrued vacation time was written off in favor of an unlimited vacation package, without providing any compensation for the accrued (and then eliminated) vacation time. First time I hear about such a bad roll out of the unlimited vacation package. Another example. The travel allowances/per diem. Basically each employee is losing money when traveling with the per-diems: $16/$17/$31/$5. Have you ever tried getting lunch at the airport for $17??? Lol. These are the same per-diems of 10 years ago! Another example. Salaries have not been adjusted to inflation for 3 years and the company (HR/finance/corporate) claims not to be "running after inflation" in favor of stability. I don't see much logic here since every year in the past 3 years Ansys salaries have shrunk in real terms. And the company keeps claiming it is valuing its employees! Maybe its corporate employees but definitely not the rest of the staff. Also, in the past, with low inflation, it seemed like Ansys was chasing inflation since the adjustments I've seen for my teams have always been inflation-adjusted.
So, again, not a very dignified treatment of its employees.
