Pros
weekly pay maybe one pro...and they give you 50% discount on clothes, but that's a pretty common sale anyway to the public too.
Cons
Ann Taylor does not care about its customers nor its employees much. Upper management has no idea and doesn't even care, what is going on in the stores other than what are the sales numbers. Ann Taylor become one of those companies that has chosen to go the "easy way"... switching to cheap quality fast fashion merchandise. That results in a lot of unhappy customers that never come back and lots of returns. As far as employment goes...not better. You won't get any respect from the management regardless how you perform. They are very impatient actually. Since the turnover is high, they are tired of training new people. You will be pressured hard to up-sell and to sell company credit cards. No commission, only low hourly wages (at or around minimum wage). They hire only part time with no benefits what so ever. As a sales associate (or as they call it "Stylist") you will be doing other things too beside selling clothes. Lots of store and toilet cleaning, online order processing and shipping, working in the stockroom, steaming, hanging giant heavy signs to the ceiling climbing to super tall ladder. One time they put me on a special project: two of us had to rent a uhaul truck and move over 15 super heavy mannequins from another store. (Two 120 pound women are hauling these awkward things on a handtruck...can you imagine?...amazing opportunities) I guess the company can't afford a delivery crew... So, unless you are desperate or just need a job for a short term...look for a better company.
