Pros
You get to learn a lot, deal with many new concerns/clients, get a clinical supervisor to help work through cases, community of psychologists is good
Cons
30+ hours of just sessions per week not in tandem with the salary, hectic and sometimes toxic work environment, bad management and they make the lower level workers do tasks which are not at all related to their field.
As a consultant counselling psychologist, I did SEO keyword search work, monitor their in-website chatbot and flag weird requests, monitor their community pages (overnight) for any risk/against community guidelines posts and take therapist-client fit request calls.
Yes, I did get a great deal of experience and work with a great team. But I eventually burnt out and had empathy exhaustion. I had to leave because it was the best decision for me and my clients.
