Pros
Work from home Friendly environment Gained good references.
Cons
I took this job hoping to transition into an industry where I could apply my university degree, despite taking a 60% pay cut to $20/hour with no benefits. For the last 10 years, I have been part of the salary team, it was truly nerve wracking starting from a level entry position, but willing to put in the work. Knowing my experience and skills The recruiter assured me that internal growth was possible, as long as I was willing to start from the bottom. Throughout my contract, I consistently received positive feedback from both customers and leadership. Despite this, my contract was not renewed due to “business needs” and I was laid off on a random Tuesday. I was encouraged to apply for two internal roles and went through multiple interviews, only to be strung along for two weeks before being told I didn’t qualify because they were looking for French speakers—something that was never mentioned upfront. After excelling in my role and following their guidance, I was left with nothing but empty promises. The supposed opportunities for internal growth never materialized, and the communication throughout the process was extremely tiring and disappointing. Bottom Line: If you’re looking for stability, career advancement, and transparency, this isn’t the place.
