Pros

It's hard to describe the pros without sounding "over the top" or like a sycophant but AirMap really is a great place to work, regardless of which team you work on. All the team leads are like minded, with focus on contributing to achieving the same set of company goals. That said, the list of pros for me are: - great team that shows up each day not because it's a job but because they want to solve problems - "working smart" is favoured over "working hard" (or long) - company structure encourages initiative and innovation - success is measured by results not by - Santa Monica office is dog friendly - broad mix of backgrounds (not just pilots, though pilots are definitely cool) - flexible with work location; set up to handle (and supportive of) working remotely - free lunch at the Santa Monica office each day - good perks (drone purchase allowance, paid-paid vacation, fitness and public transportation reimbursements) - use of technologies to solve pain points, not for the sake of using them

Cons

There aren't really any cons per se, so this is more of a list of potential improvements: - company is growing rapidly so some processes are in flux - Santa Monica office is lacking a good coffee machine (need a Saeco or equivalent) - company-branded swag isn't suitable for colder environments

Pros

To have the ability to discover technology that has endless opportunities in our near future. To help shape the world, with highly skilled designers, engineers, and stakeholders in a way that makes it better for all other companies out there. To work at a global presence that sparks opportunities with governments and regulation policies around the world. If you want to work on technology that will make a difference to your society and community, you want to be here at Airmap. Outside of every great perk AirMap can offer (hardware of choice, free lunches, expensed gym memberships, flexible schedules, & unlimited PTO), AirMap covers everything you need so that you can be your best at AirMap.

Cons

With new technology comes new challenges, so don't expect that the development process or the vision will be ready out of the box for you. Some people may see this as a con at their workplace because they just want things handed to them and show they are performing at an expected velocity rate. Be ready to bring your A-game because you have some really talented people here who want to stay and are expecting brothers and sisters in arm who are expected to keep up at the same pace. Another thing that may be considered a con on the surface is the amount of communication and reliability AirMap is to internal and external partners. The team is pretty condense with a wealth of knowledge, so a lot of us wear multiple hats because we want to make sure the right decisions for this new frontier is being developed correctly. If you are looking to be just a cog in a big machine, just know that each at AirMap cog, if misplaced, is a critical error towards moving at the pace that this industry needs to move. So strap on your seatbelt, measure twice, cut once, because you are seriously in for an intense ride.
