Pros

I'm here to spread awareness at how awful a company AirDNA is. Don't trust the overly positive reviews that were probably written by an HR person to try to attract talent. Those reviews are both from Barcelona anyway. The CEO and bulk of the company work in Denver, and it's a terrible place to work. It should be apparent that someone is asking employees to post these overly positive reviews since they're having so much trouble finding hires. They've had the same engineering jobs posted for about 4 months, they just refresh it so it doesn't look like they're struggling to find people.

Cons

I'm resubmitting this review because I noticed they just posted a Product Designer position and I want to warn any potential candidate to not waste your time and to look elsewhere. They only yesterday posted a listing looking for a designer 4 months after firing me. I assume a chunk of design work has built up. Be aware that they will have you design a piece of their product and then dispose of you once it's been completed and without warning because "they don't like your designs." That's what they did to me. I wasn't given any warning about my performance and was let go the same week the new feature launched that I had been working on since starting there. The exact reason for letting me go was "they didn't like my designs" and yet 4 days previous, they just went to market with my designs. This was also 3 weeks before Christmas. No companies were looking to hire until the start of the new year, but that didn't matter to them. When I brought this up to management, the exact quote they said was "it's never a good time." No severance. No warning. No care. They're shady, I suggest to look elsewhere. This is a terrible startup who screw over their employees and don't care about anything except to sell their rickety business. TOXIC environment. Management is walking cancer, and the whole office feels it. They'll tell you anything to get you on board with talks of a “great culture” and “fun work environment” and then pull a bait and switch. It’s a terrible frat culture, and definitely not a fun environment. It started to feel more like a prison. They have no problems disposing of you once they get what they want from you. They've been looking for an Engineering Manager for about 4 months now with no luck. Makes me think people can see what this company really is and want nothing to do with it. They started having “culture meetings” that were really just a round about way to tell us to work harder and longer hours so they can reach a point to sell the business faster. The CEO, Scott Shatford, even mentioned in a “culture meeting” how he didn’t like the coffee machine because it meant people weren’t working, they were making coffee. There is no such thing as a sick day or vacation away from work. You’re still expected to work during these times. Management will ask “where are we at” with items while you’re marked out of office on the calendar, expecting them to be finished while you’re out. Scott Shatford doesn’t like letting his employees work remote because he doesn’t trust them. Another thing Scott Shatford said in a culture meeting was that “snow and cold temperatures is not a reason to work from home” and that we were still expected to come in. Scott Shatford spends his days playing ping pong and making sexist remarks that go unchecked by anyone of authority to say something. He doesn't care about anyone but himself and his money. This company is by far the worst place I've ever worked. Do yourself a favor, and don't work here.

Pros

The marketing department WAS filled with extremely talented and high performing team members. They were great to work with and we accomplished some pretty incredible things. Unfortunately they have almost all left at this point and it's not a surprise and good for those that have been able to move on.

Cons

Typical Private Equity scenario. They bring in and CEO and CFO with big expectations and incentives to grow at a ridiculous pace. Leadership sets unrealistic goals that we never hit and never had a chance to hit. Don't get your hopes up on hitting any bonuses while you are there. Then leadership starts looking for people and departments to blame and push. They need to show good bottom line so they start pulling back on people and expenses and push you harder to more with less people and resources. Culture went from fun and collaborative to burnout and finger pointing. Leadership is not going to take responsibility for the unrealistic goals they through out there.
