The basic: Not benefits, work 6 times a week, work everyday the store is open, and mentally draining job, high turnover, so high they interview people everyday.
I left a a higher paying job in a call center with benefits because they made it sound so exciting with a lot of room for advancement . But You’re going to be that annoying DirectTv sales person that everyone hates at Costco and Sams Club. If you’re not pushy and would not like to bother people this job it’s not for you. To succeed you basically need to bother customers going in the stores if they want direct tv. Most people would ignore you, badmouth direct tv or be straight up rude because they are tired of being asked the same every time they go there.
The stress it’s really high as to make a living wage you need to sell and sells can be hard. Old reps would go an entire week with one sale and they’d do sketchy things to get more. Sometimes I wonder how they allow this in the stores. Also they treat people like middle schoolers. They write reports for people getting there 5 mins later to cut their paychecks, but would make you leave training half an hour late. Parking in Downtown Orlando is very expensive and you could get fined for overstaying.
The person who said in the review he/she didn’t get paid it’s truth. The last week I worked there I made not sales and got paid a lot less than the amount I should have been paid, but I got not energy to deal with them.
