Pros
The pay was excellent! Even just the weekly draw (taken from commission later) was best pay I’d ever gotten. The benefits are even more impressive; great insurance (though a little pricey), tons of opportunities for bonuses, a yearly vacation for top performers and those who refer new talent, and generous compensation for using your truck for work. The company culture is fantastic; everyone from the CEO to your fellow new guys and gals are eager and happy to see you succeed. You’re selling a genuinely great service that has no real downside.
Cons
It is door to door sales. The company standard is 5 claims (closes) a week, so there’s a lot of no’s in between yes’s. It’s tough, lonely, and *requires* self-motivation, so make sure you’re ready for that. If you’re working for a newer branch, there’s likely to be really long turnaround on commissions. It’ll get better with time, but there’s a lot to get established first.
