Pros

The pay and hours are good, the location is perfect for me. The factory is clean and well lit, comfortable in both the winter and summer.

Cons

The pay scale is a hidden secret and varies greatly from site to site. One customer and location can be great to work at and another a hell hole. ATS is a middle man and will take a cut of your pay , I honesty believe you can do better by working directly for a manufacturer. I hate having to wear a uniform, bump cap and carry a radio. The mandatory monthly online safety training and annual self evaluation are a major pain in the butt. ATS will pimp you out. No matter how ridiculous and out of scope the request from the customer to do something, you will have to do it. As a maintenance technician you will be expected to know how to do anything. The stress of having it all dumped on you is often overwhelming. There is no seniority or job security, the customer contract may not be renewed. ATS has been involved in union strike busting, you may have to cross a picket line.

Pros

Great time to sell into the manufacturing sector related to productivity and equipment reliability.

Cons

Operational driven company but constantly changing the sales org and strategy. "Leaders" that have no background in business development or revenue generation responsible for sales strategy. Wasn't uncommon to report to a new leader or move sales territories multiple times in a year but quota never changed. Top performers are expected to do and sell more but additional financial upside was out of the question. A select group of legacy employees and "leaders" made decisions in a bubble in most cases. I was a top performer during my entire tenure at ATS. I agreed to work out a two week notice to help transition my accounts but was terminated after three days. No one in middle management, director, or exec-level roles asked for feedback or even made the time to send an email wishing me well or thanking me for my contributions during my five years with the company. In fact, my health insurance was terminated with no warning before I left the last day. My contributions and sacrifices for ATS meant so little to the company that they didn't care that my two small children wouldn't have insurance for over a month when I tried to leave the right way.
