Pros

Honestly and in all reality there are no pros to working for advance auto parts.

Cons

Well for starters I was a mid tier manager making a dollar over minimum wage, I also was only getting about 30-37 hours a week as a full time employee but usually and consistently on the lower end. I have had managers create toxic work environments, and pit workers against each other and who have been reported multiple times to District Managers but due to familial ties did nothing about it and allowed the issues to not only continue but become progressively worse to the point the assistant manager had to be transferred to another store because of suicidal thoughts that he almost acted on. There is nothing but a toxic cesspool of people claiming to have your back only to throw you under the bus for personal "gain". I have nothing and most likely never will have anything good to say about this failing company and only served my two weeks so I have something to fall on in case panhandling doesn't work out. I can go on and on about all the bad but to sum it up real nice and neat stay the F away from here if you are looking for a job, even in desperate times just don't.

Pros

Pay, benefits, vacation time, discounts

Cons

Schizophrenic management decisions, lack of continuity between markets, more focus on short term shareholder satisfaction than team experience and stability. Total lack of actual care or concern for people. Has zero identity. All the “let’s go!” Culture is just exhausting. The actual culture amounts to three month old leftovers. Include the people at the ground level into decision making. They are the ones working, living and facing it daily. Remember who built the place- the counter folks and the customers they serve. Pizza parties and hats are not how you keep people happy.
