Pros

The team was awesome. I loved all my coworkers and had a good time with them. Also had the opportunity for 100% commission, which was good. You didn't have to be in until 12pm every weekday, which was nice. And there are definitely really good opportunities for career advancement.

Cons

The biggest thing was that the whole system is based on showing up at people's doors and trying to convince them to switch their cable service on the spot. 90% of the people really don't want to hear it. And you're out there for 5 or 6 hours trying to do that, rain or shine, cold or hot. Unless you settle for the alternative of $300 per week plus a certain percent of the commission you make, you are relying solely on at least one or two sales per day to make enough money to be worth the hours. Also, you're expected to work Saturdays as well as every weekday, making the total hours you dedicate to your work over 40. You don't get paid for the two hours worth of morning meetings you go to.

Pros

When I was first offered a position with Adaptable Business Concepts I thought everything they were offering was just too good to be true, however, after maintaining my position the promises held up. I quickly got my promotions and the position did not involve strictly outside sales. I was soon running training programs as well as gained experience conducting interviews. The staff at ABC along with the ceo are extremely supportive and helpful regardless if it is your first day or your one year anniversary. I have never worked in an environment where so many people would go out of their way to see you succeed. I never thought outside sales would be for me, however, after ABC's training program it came easy. I was new to the city of Philly along with a recent college graduate and this couldn't have been a better opportunity for me. I made friends and gained experience not only in sales and marketing but also in a professional environment. You definitely work hard to play hard but in the end the advancement opportunities and money out way any cons of starting off in outside sales.

Cons

Although you have to deal with ordinary wear and tear of your vehicle, a car is not a requirement and carpooling is extremely common among the employees. Long hours, not the best position for people with young children.
