Pros

Family oriented environment with most coworkers working in unison to get the job done. Upper level management all seems to be cohesive in accomplishing goals. For a co-op position, you are going to make a good wage for your first job. I can't stress enough that this is definitely a family oriented culture, including regular discussions with executives whether in passing as a friendly conversation or in monthly luncheons where the corporate office gets together to discuss the company. This level of transparency and coziness makes you feel like a part of the team, regardless of how low on the totem pole you are. On-call shifts for some areas of the team are actually paid hours as included. You will have paid holidays off on most occasions even as a Co-Op, with a full-time employee receiving a range of holiday pay. I was fortunate enough to also travel to a three different Accuride facilities in different parts of the country, though I feel this was mostly due to my relationship with mentors.

Cons

Very little opportunity to grow. Many of the HR practices are set in the stone age, it doesn't matter if you have fifty years of experience if you do not have a bachelor's degree. For someone who begins their career at the beginning of their education, this leaves them stuck as a Co-Op for four years. I've noticed other employees may also not have room to grow. For individuals looking to advance in security, there was zero opportunity to advance in this area. It isn't that the company has no security initiatives, it's that the responsibility is limited to upper level employee(s).
