Pros
The organization as a whole is mission driven and aids vulnerable communities. Didn’t have much interaction with CEO so this does not speak to the extensive work the org is let of.
Cons
Although a nonprofit Abode works like a corporation, the architecture studio specifically is small but has all the negative characteristics of working for a “starchitect” or large studio. -no mentoring or training into projects or existing workflow -no clear communication -everyone is overwhelmed/over worked -timelines are unrealistic -work is not design driven -time is not valued -upper management hardly available -no standards all around cad etc. -upper management dismissive of team -very hierarchical -staff who has been there for years are passive aggressive and expect you to catch up on existing bad habits -no professional development support The worse part is the performative support. Leadership will say things like let us know how to help but when you have questions they are very passive aggressive.
