Pros

Working with the Consumers and their support teams was a wonderful experience. Being able to see Consumers attain goals they had set was fantastic. To know that I was able to have a part in these individuals lives was something that I will never forget.

Cons

Broken Promises I began as an assistant manager with the company with the clear expectation that I would be promoted within a short while, I was told i would receive a raise and that benefits would be factored into my salary at that point. After 3 months I was promoted to full Manager with no change in my pay (besides a small cash bonus), and was not given benefits. Later that year we had an across the board pay cut and as a result I was now making less than I was as an assistant manager but performing the duties of a full manager. I had hope in the company and believed that if I stuck it out a while longer I would receive my due. Later that year I was transitioned into an IT / Web development role within the company and within three months had developed a complex database which housed all consumers data and web portal which allowed management staff to log in and check on consumer information/status. This program was extremely helpful to the managers who made full use of it. In all this I expected a raise but instead I was fired for reasons that were not stated to me (Official determination was at-will termination, and that I could expect a good reference from the company). Within two days I was asked to return to the company to work in my same capacity plus work in management again. I accepted but only for a raise. The company agreed to give me a 15% raise when I came back. This raise never made it to me. I brought it up to the company over the course of one month and was assured it would "be on the next check" but it never was. At this point I decided that enough was enough and took a position with another company. Stressful Environment Managers are frequently called out on our group instant messaging software. Across the board threats are issued from administration regarding any number of issues. On several occasions in managers meetings I had to endure a barrage of grouped threats and name calling (thief, liar etc) about issues that we did not have any part in. He would threated the managers stating he hadn't received mandatory forms from "any" of us. Managers however talk, and we know that there are those of us who do turn in forms. If he's lumping everyone in for effect its not working - We are all upset about it. There are a group of 3-4 managers who are terrible at the administration of certain aspects of their job (scheduling, employee discipline etc) But instead of fixing the problems with them individually administration chooses threats and false bravado thinking it will magically solve the problems. When I told the company that I was leaving in two weeks I was called a thief and a liar. Administration claimed they had never wanted me to take over the company forward facing website and that I had stolen company property by claiming the domain. This is in spite of the fact that I had several meeting with my boss where he made changes to the design of my work. I confronted him with his lie and he threatened to take me to court if they did not have possession of the domain (something which I had already done). No Feedback The company does not conduct any sort of regular employee reviews (apart from a 30 day). So an employee has absolutely no idea where they stand with administration at any point in time. If you do something wrong you wont hear about it directly from administration. Constructive criticism is not given. Frequently other managers hear complaints from administration about the things OTHER managers have done incorrectly. No Follow through I was told repeatedly that I would be receiving a new computer/server when I took my position in IT/Development. This never happened. I was given a two year old laptop to work on in the meantime. When I went back into management administration took the laptop to use as a workstation computer for other managers to use - at my protest. They didn't care about the integrity of the database / website, just cost savings. I was told I would receive my information off the computer to continue work on the website but once again that never happened. Employees are not disciplined according to policy. Attendance violations are not addressed so employees continue and continue to skip work. They know they will have a position no matter what. All this puts managers in a tight spot with filling shifts. We keep employees out of fear they they will claim overtime if they are fired, its so frustrating.

Management was terrible during the pandemic and didn't always communicate with staff.
