Pros
My time at Aberdeen was incredibly rewarding! The colleague comms team had a thriving, supportive, and collaborative team culture and I was welcomed into it as a valued member. My team entrusted me with meaningful projects that helped me develop real-world skills and boosted my confidence in my abilities. Seeing how my degree could be applied in a professional setting gave me a strong sense of security in my future career path and made me excited for the future. As I am about to go into my last year at university I have a boosted drive for what I am doing after getting a taste of what a role in a corporate company may look like. One of the highlights was the opportunity to connect with a wide range of colleagues and senior leaders—everyone was approachable and open to a coffee chat, which allowed me to gain insight into lots of different areas of the business. My internship at Aberdeen has left a memorable impression on me as the team culture made each day at work enjoyable.
Cons
The process to get the internship spanned over many months and included a lot of different steps which can be quite overwhelming as I had to do this during my third year at university.
