Pros

Friday popcorn and nothing else. It is better to work at Walmart as a greeter than work here!

Cons

Bad pay, promises made during the interview are not kept (they talk big and will wine and dine you during the interview), once you sign the employment contract, you are done! Hostile work environment. CEO micromanages everything. Medical insurance premiums are very high, No employer contribution to 401K. When you interview at the Bettendorf, IA location, ask to use the restroom. It will tell you the state of the company and it's standards! When you walk in the door, look down and look at the state of the carpet, it will tell you all you want to know about the company!

Pros

I am a degreed Engineer who graduated last year from an accredited university and was hired about a year ago as Sales Application Engineer and recently became the Marketing Engineer. I have been given many different opportunities to grow as a professional. I got to learn a lot about different aspects of industrial automation. I, personally, really like supportive and helpful environment that higher management has fostered over time. This is a really good opportunity as a fresh graduate to learn various aspects of corporate world ranging from Sales, Marketing, Engineering, to Project Management. Higher management never falls short in appreciating your efforts. I have been exposed to various aspects of the business to learn and grow. There are people always there to help you, be it related to office work or outside of office. The owner of the company loves to teach about Industrial Automation world as he is the pioneer in the field. He likes to also help his employees adapt and succeed in outside world and helps them lay out unique paths for them to lead with boldness. I have learnt a lot from him regarding not just Industrial Controls but all aspects of life, so can you! The work environment is very pleasant and gives you great sense of belonging.

Cons

Would love to have a corporate Mercedes Benz to drive!

Pros

- Popcorn Fridays, other employees were very nice and fun to be around. - Does understand that family issues come up (sick kids, etc...) - 3 weeks vacation after 5 years - Good resume builder in the manufacturing/automation industry

Cons

- Pay isn't up to par with industry standard along with the commission structure (which is also not very good and strangely done). Maybe put together a good bonus plan along with good pay and employees might stick around longer than 4 months. - Quality of products and technology is lacking BIG TIME. Hard to compete with other automation companies like Automation Direct, Red Lion, Omron, Maple, etc...when your products aren't up to par with their features. - Speaking of quality, I am not sure if the testing protocol needs to be changed, but this is one of the biggest issues here. You might sell 10 HMIs or PLCs and 3-5 of them will come back with defects. It's very frustrating to bring on a brand new customer, only for them to leave in a year because product doesn't work. If you want to gain 5 new customers and lose 10 and run your business that way go ahead I guess... - The "professional" training left a little to be desired. - The owner runs the show, including sales and customer service departments. He is a very talented engineer, but his people and marketing skills are lacking. He doesn't know how to treat employees with respect. - Mandatory 50 hour work week. Honestly this would be just fine typically, but the pay doesn't match up.
