Pros
Passionate managers that care about the specialist area. Small teams within the departments mean queries can be raised quickly and resolved by team members. Progressive area of Law, which makes the job interesting. Management is extremely approachable.
Cons
Departments are a little disjointed, which affects communication. Training is poorly structured and last-minute, and often incomplete or sporadic. Complex terms are thrown around with no definitive weight as if one is expected to know, which led to a lack of conformity and cohesion with file/case management.
Not a problem for experienced financial lawyers or those able to conduct extensive extracurricular reading (Fee earner role more suited for an LPC/LLM/SQE graduate, with a focus on financial and business law in order to fully commit to the role stress-free)
