Pros
Decent Salary Good office facilities Good funds available from ADVA
Cons
Work culture is good at other sites. But division focusing on latest tech SDN/NFV is different. The site has turned into a cultural hub all time there are parties and fun environment. Those who work hard are made scape goats and made to do others work as well. There is very less focus on product or deliverables. There is a vicious circle of office politics targeting the good resources, there is less or no pressure to generate revenue may be one of the reasons for this. Management encourages sycophancy and nepotism. No accountability on resources, deadlines are infinitely extendable. Resources who have no contributions survive for ages without being questioned or fired, on the contrary some of them get promoted. Those who raise voice are suppressed in all possible ways, the inept and incapable form groups and keep up their non performance. Development is lead by test directors with very poor aptitude, people with no aptitude or ability are allowed to lead different positions just on need basis or because of their strong political clout and affinity. Unwanted meetings, and parties suck most of the time, person's extra circular skills play important role here. Communication cross site goes on in loop with little or no concrete results, takes ages to convince people to fall in line. ADVA seems very generous to still continue funding such a unit with such poor accountability, any other corporate would have preferred to shut down by now.
