It is a very old fashioned culture that feels like a boys club or where you succeed if you manage up well and don’t question the decisions of the executive team. The COO has created a culture of needing to be involved in every tiny decision so there is no sense of empowerment. The culture is extremely negative and has many brilliant employees who are not being utilized for their skills. Warning to anyone coming from the outside that the company is not open to trying new things. Since the COO took over leading the company from the son-in-law of the founder, the culture has gotten worse and worse. The leaders he has brought on the executive team do not know what it means to lead to people or be a good example of what it means to care for employees. They hide behind the “A-Dec Way” and “Concern for people”. Almost everyone I know that still works there is very disturbed by how the culture has gone down hill but they are afraid to find something new. There are much better companies out there who actually practice what they preach. Zero diversity or acknowledgement of diversity. The COO will not acknowledge bias in the workplace, and actually blatantly says “it’s not an issue” there. Even though it is least diverse company I have ever worked in.
