Pros
- Quick, hands-on experience - High level of trust and responsibility - Rub shoulders with lots of people in ND who make big decisions - Make community connections VERY quickly - Lots of young professionals start careers here, easy to make friends and meet people in their 20's - Turnover means you can jump forward in the hierarchy pretty quickly if you apply yourself
Cons
- Pay for those at the bottom to mid is pretty terrible, especially compared to those at the top (c-suite making $100k/yr+ while coordinators are making $35k/yr barely surviving). - "We're a family!" type culture, can get old very quickly - Unspoken expectations with leadership - Often unclear vision from leadership - Workload ebbs and flows, with high-stress times being VERY high-stress - Lots of turnover, causes all sorts of problems year-over-year as events and initiatives trade hands often
